Humanitarians/Activists - Round 3 (The Elite Eight)
This is why I love The Elite Eight. Look at these matches. For the first time ever it's all #1s vs #2s. Could we have all #1s in the Final Four? Quite possible but I think Jimmy Carter can take Susan B. Anthony. At any rate. The Final Four will be mucho interesting.
See this is what I'm saying about Wednesdays on Coffee Cake. There is always at least one "Oh shit!" match. The Elite Eight is the best round on Coffee Cake.
I must say, I am amazaed Mandela isn't doing better... I get Anthony and Carter being a close one, and it is, at the time of this post 47%/52%... but King is kicking Mandela in the sack right now, with a 60/40 split. I don't think I get it.
This is the first Coffee Cake I have participated in, and I have to say "Good show, man... Good show."
HA! Thanks Benjamin. Amanda and I were talking about the MLK & Mandela match while we ate dinner today and she also shared your Amazaed opinion. We both thought that race would be a closer one. Thanks for joining us on Coffee Cake. Next week we will be doing movies and the following week liquors. How did you find out about Coffee Cake?
Facebook, the hellish wonder that it is. I should have been joining in all along, but this one seemed so great that it motivated me to action. I almost jumped in on the cereal one, but "never got areound to it". When you said you wanted suggestions for activists and humanitarians you hooked me. Thanks.
I gotta say, Susan B. has come a long way to end up this outclassed. Sure she beat out the Gates Foundation, Steve Biko (which I don't get), and Jimmy Carter, but putting her up agains Gandhi? Martin Luthor King, Jr., Gandhi, and Mother Teresa are rock and roll, it will be a hell of a fight, and I think Anthony is going to get smoked... quickly. I kinda feel bad for her.

In a large bowl, combine the flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside 1-1/4 cups for topping. To the remaining mixture, add cocoa, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, salt and cloves; mix well. Stir in raisins and nuts. Make a well in the center; pour in buttermilk and stir just until moistened.
Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
I gotta say, the MLK vs Nelson Mandela is a hardcore matchup...
ReplyDeleteYeah that is a pretty rough one.
ReplyDeleteMLK, Jr vs. Nelson Mandela should have been the final... I almost dropped my coffee when I saw that one... not good for the keyboard.

I also dont know what amazaed is, but I think it is just a bit more exaggerated than regular old amazed.
